How to Release Port 80 and 443 on a Computer that is running N4 and Johnson Controls SCT

If you are running a station on your local PC and you also have SCT installed, the default web ports will not work in the N4 station.

One workaround is to change the default ports in the station (Web Service) to something other than port 80 (non-secure) and port 443 (secure).  If the station is being used as a server, this can create some extra work for users logging in directly.

You can also temporarily disable the background service that SCT is using to capture those ports.  The steps are below.

Stopping World Wide Web Publishing

This needs to be done if you have both SCT as well as Niagara 4 Workbench on your computer and you wish to use some of the features in Niagara 4 Workbench.

  1. Search your PC for Computer Management and open it up
  1. Double Click Services and Applications
  1. Double Click on Services
  1. Right click World Wide Web Publishing, select Stop

This workaround only works until the computer is re-booted.  Once the computer re-boots, you will need to go through the process again if you need to use the default web ports for a station running on the local PC.

**We recommend NOT installing SCT on any PC that is going to be used to run a Niagara station (i.e. a Supervisor).
